Rainer Conrad

Rainer Conrad (born November 30, 1940 in Munich ; † February 28, 2013 there ) was a German lawyer. He was Vice President of the Bavarian Supreme Court of Auditors and, until the end of 2006, chairman of the commission to determine the financial needs of broadcasters .

career

Conrad studied law in Munich and Berlin from 1962 to 1966 .

From 1967 to 1969 he worked in various law firms and an auditing firm. In 1970 he joined the Bavarian Finance Administration as a senior civil servant, where he was most recently a consultant in the budget department of the Bavarian State Ministry of Finance.

From 1979 he was a member of the Bavarian Supreme Audit Office. From March 1, 2000 until he retired from active service on November 30, 2005, he was Vice President and Head of Department for Education and Culture, Science, Research and Art, and Broadcasting.

From 1985 to 2006, Conrad was a member of the commission for determining the financial needs of broadcasters (KEF). He was first elected chairman of the KEF in 1994. In 2007 he was awarded the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany .

Private

In his free time, Conrad enjoyed studying art and culture. He loved operas and was an ambitious painter. For example, a selection of his pictures was shown in an exhibition in 1999 at the Galerie am Gleis in Peiting, Upper Bavaria, Bahnhof Ost , and in 2000 at “Art -reservation - Eigenarten”, an art exhibition by the Friends of the State Zoological Collection.
