Rainer Dieterich

Rainer Dieterich (born March 20, 1943 in Koethen ) is a German psychologist. From 1978 to 2008 he was professor for educational psychology at the Helmut Schmidt University / University of the Federal Armed Forces in Hamburg .

Life

He began his psychology studies in Erlangen in 1963, continued it in Braunschweig and graduated in 1969 with a diploma in Erlangen. In 1969 he became a scientific assistant there, received his doctorate in 1971, became an assistant at the University of Education in Bayreuth, then at the University of Education in Munich - Pasing and the University of Munich, where he completed his habilitation in 1978.

From 1978 he was professor for educational psychology in the department of education of the Helmut Schmidt University / University of the Federal Armed Forces Hamburg. Dieterich taught in the diploma course in pedagogy, later also in the bachelor course in "Educational Science" and was the spokesman (dean) of the department. He has been retired since 2008. Dieterich's main research area was teaching and learning. Further research projects were the regulation of the learning state and simulators as learning media.
