Rainer Franke (architect)

Rainer Franke (born 1954 in Karlsruhe ) is an architect and has been the rector of HFT Stuttgart since 2007 .

Career

Franke studied architecture at the University of Karlsruhe until 1981 . Together with Rainer Gebhard, he founded the Franke + Gebhard architectural office in 1982. In 1998 he was appointed professor at the HFT Stuttgart for the fields of building history and construction . From 2004 he was dean of the Faculty of Architecture and Design. In 2007 he was elected rector of the university. In 2013 he was re-elected for a further seven-year term.

Private

Franke is married and has two children.
