Rainer Funk

Rainer Funk (born February 18, 1943 ) is a German psychoanalyst and the administrator of Erich Fromm's estate .

Life

Funk studied philosophy and theology . From 1974 to 1980 he was Erich Fromm's assistant, on whom he received his doctorate in 1977 and whose ten-volume complete edition he edited from 1975 to 1981. Fromm, who died in 1980, appointed Funk as his administrator. Since then, Rainer Funk has been building the Erich Fromm archive from the estate and library of Erich Fromm in Tübingen . He is the owner of the rights to Fromm's writings and is on the board of the International Erich Fromm Society .

In addition to his scientific work, Rainer Funk runs a psychoanalytic practice in his home town of Tübingen. He is married and has two sons. He is a member of the advisory board of the book magazine latenz .
