Rainer Hertrich

Rainer Hertrich (born December 6, 1949 in Ottengrün ) is a German manager .

Hertrich first completed an apprenticeship at Siemens as an industrial clerk before studying business administration in Berlin and Nuremberg between 1971 and 1977 . After completing his studies, he went to MBB . Before moving to DASA in 1990 , he rose to become a member of the corporate division management at MBB. In 1991 he became head of controlling at DASA .

On January 1, Hertrich took over the aerospace drives division of DASA and thus became Chairman of the Management Board of Motoren- und Turbinen-Union München GmbH (MTU Munich). On April 1 of the same year, Hertrich was promoted to the general management. Hertrich became Chairman of the Board of Management of DaimlerChrysler Aerospace AG on March 15, 2000.

In March 2000 Rainer Hertrich took over the management of EADS (European Aeronautic Defense and Space Company) together with Philippe Camus . On December 4, 2004, Hertrich announced that he would no longer be available for another term of office of the job, which is endowed with € 1,093,942 / year. From May 2005 he and his French colleague Camus were followed by Foregard, the previous Airbus boss, and Thomas Enders, formerly head of the EADS defense department, in the dual leadership of EADS.
