Rainer Sachse (psychologist)

Rainer Sachse (born October 10, 1948 ) is a German psychologist and founder of clarification-oriented psychotherapy . He is professor for clinical psychology at the Ruhr University Bochum and heads the Bochum Institute for Psychological Psychotherapy .

life and work

Sachse studied psychology, philosophy and sociology at the Ruhr University in Bochum from 1969 to 1978. In 1984 he received his doctorate on "The Circulus Vitiosus Model of Cardiac Neurosis" at the chair for clinical psychology and psychotherapy of Prof. Dr. Dietmar Schulte at the Ruhr University Bochum. Since 1998 he has been an adjunct professor for clinical psychology and psychotherapy there. Furthermore, Sachse is head of the Institute for Psychological Psychotherapy (IPP), a state-recognized training, research and therapy institute.

Sachse developed clarification-oriented psychotherapy as an extension of conversation psychotherapy . He was influenced by the work of Carl Rogers , Leslie Greenberg and Klaus Grawes .
