Rainer Schmidt (business IT specialist)

Rainer Schmidt is a German business IT specialist . He is professor for business informatics at the University of Applied Sciences in Munich .

After completing his doctorate at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), he initially worked as a professor at the Baden-Württemberg Cooperative State University Lörrach (DHBW Lörrach) and Aalen University in teaching and research. His research results have been published in various scientific conferences and journals such as CAiSE, HICSS, PACIS, AMCIS, BIS, Journal of Software: Evolution and Process. He is co-organizer of numerous scientific conferences and workshops as well as journal editor in the areas of business process management , data science , corporate architecture and social information systems.

On July 5, 2018, Rainer Schmidt received the Oskar von Miller Prize "Applied Research and Development" from the Munich University of Applied Sciences.
