The Abierto Mexicano Telcel 2018 was a tennis tournament that was held in Acapulco from February 26th to March 3rd, 2018 . It was part of the ATP World Tour 2018 and was played outdoors on hard courts. In the same week the Brasil Open were played in São Paulo and the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships in Dubai . The latter, like the Abierto Mexicano Telcel, belonged to the ATP World Tour 500 category , while the Brasil Open belonged to the ATP World Tour 250 category .

The defending champion in singles was Sam Querrey , in doubles the pairing of Jamie Murray and Bruno Soares won last year.

The field of participants in the individual competition consisted of 32 players, that of the doubles competition consisted of 16 pairs. The total prize pool was $ 1,642,795; total financial liabilities were $ 1,789,445.

The qualification took place on February 24th and 25th, 2018. Four qualifier places were played out in singles and one place in doubles, which entitle them to participate in the main draw of the tournament. There were also two lucky losers.
