Rainlendar is calendar software from the Finnish developer Kimmo "Rainy" Pekkola for Windows , MacOS X and Linux (since version 2 beta). In addition, the program can also be used as a plug-in under LiteStep .

Rainlendar is characterized by an easily adaptable user interface (using skins ). The calendar can be placed transparently on the Windows desktop and is (with the right mouse button) u. a. from the Windows notification area . It has common functions such as a task list and reminder alarm. Different event types can be represented with different symbols. The calendar software is also able to import and save common formats such as iCal files via plug-in as standard .

Until the last free version, Rainlendar contained a built-in server , both for Windows and Linux , via which distributed Rainlendar individual applications ( clients ) can be synchronized. This function is no longer available in the current and still free Lite versions. The paid Pro version supports WebDAV and enables synchronization with Google Calendar or connection to Outlook .

Rainlendar supports about 50 languages ​​and there are numerous skins with individual surface designs available.

Alternatives to Rainlendar are for example Korganizer , GNOME calendar (both for Linux) or Lightning .
