Rairangpur is a small town in the Indian state of Odisha .

The city is part of the Mayurbhanj district . Rairangpur has the status of a Notified Area Committee . The city is divided into 15 wards . It had a total of 25,516 inhabitants on the cut-off date of the 2011 census. 34,929 inhabitants live in the agglomeration.

Rairangpur is surrounded by hills rich in iron ore. The region therefore forms an important mining area in Odisha. Agriculture is also economically important. The nearby Simlipal National Park is a tourist attraction.

The city is connected to the national rail network by a train station.
