Raja Group of Industries (Pvt.) Ltd. , often called Raja Group of Companies , is a group of companies based in the Pakistani city ​​of Karachi , which includes the following subsidiaries:

  • Raja Motor Company Limited , Karachi (vehicle production).
  • Raja Engineering Company Limited , Karazschi (sheet metal components for cars, motorcycles, auto rickshaws ).
  • Rani Ghee Mills Limited , Jhelam , (manufacture of food grade fats ).
  • Kashmir Tire & Rubber , Mirpur (manufacture of tires and tubes).
  • Khawaja Autocars Limited , Karachi (manufacture of Vespa scooters).

history

The Fiat Uno was manufactured in Pakistan from March 2001 in the shape of 1989.

The company has existed since 1948.

The production of motor scooters and auto rickshaws began when Khawaja Autocars Limited signed a contract with Piaggio in 1968 or 1969 and they jointly built an assembly plant in Karachi.

In 1993, Raja Motor Company Limited was established as an automobile distribution company. Another source names 1964 as the date of foundation. In 1997, a technical agreement was signed with Fiat aimed at production. A corresponding plant was set up in Landhi (Karachi).

The factory opened in 2001 in the presence of Pakistani President Rafiq Tarar . For the year 2003 a production of 1200 vehicles is stated. Production ended in the first decade of the new millennium.

The only car model built was the Fiat Uno . It was offered with a 1.7 liter diesel engine. Other sources also name a 1.3-liter gasoline engine or a 1.9-liter diesel engine.
