The Rakusa Point ( Polish Przylądek Rakusy ) is a headland on the south coast of King George Island in the South Shetland Islands . It is located 800 m southeast of Point Thomas on the west bank of Admiralty Bay and marks the northern limit of the entrance to Suszczewski Cove .
Participants in a Polish Antarctic expedition named it in 1977 after the Polish polar explorer Stanisław Rakusa-Suszczewski (* 1938), who opened the neighboring Arctowski station on February 26, 1977 . The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee transferred the Polish name to English in 1984.
