The Grüneberg with Abtsberg and Bruderberg

The Grünhäuser Abtsberg ( reg. No. Of the Weinbergsrolle 45 01 14) is one of the three individual layers of the Maximin Grünhaus winery in Mertesdorf in the Trier-Saarburg district ( Rhineland-Palatinate ).

In addition to the Abtsberg, there are also the individual layers Grünhäuser Bruderberg and Grünhäuser Herrenberg . The three vineyards in the Ruwer area do not have large vineyards . They all differ in the type of soil, slope and microclimate.

The Abtsberg covers around 14 hectares of vineyards and some of it has been planted with vines for over 1000 years. Its subsoil consists of blue Devonian slate , the round dome turns from southeast to southwest and it reaches a slope of up to 70%. The Abtsberg wines are characterized by their finely structured, subtle minerality, classy acidity, lots of fruit, body and play. They are among the longest-lived Riesling wines in the region.

The cadastral designation of the district on the southern slope of the Grüneberg is Grünhäuserberg.
