The Grünhäuser Herrenberg is one of the three vineyard locations of the Maximin Grünhaus winery in Mertesdorf in the Trier-Saarburg district ( Rhineland-Palatinate ).

In addition to the Herrenberg, there are also the individual layers Grünhäuser Bruderberg and Grünhäuser Abtsberg . They all differ in the type of soil, slope and microclimate.

The Herrenberg extends to a total of 19 hectares. The red Devonian slate dominates here, which has weathered to form deep soils with good water flow. The wines of the Herrenberg show fruit and body at an early stage and also impress with their extraordinary ability to develop.

The cadastral designation of the district on the southern slope of the Grünerberg is Im Viertelberg . The family of Karl Marx had in the 19th century here vineyards.
