Ralf Herbrich

Ralf Herbrich (born May 11, 1974 in Schwedt / Oder ) is a German computer scientist .

Life

After graduating from high school in 1992, Herbrich studied computer science at the Technical University of Berlin , where he received his doctorate in 2000 on the subject of "Learning Linear Classifiers: Theory and Algorithms".

From 2000 to 2011 Herbrich worked at Microsoft in England, most recently as director of the “Future Social Experiences (FUSE) Lab”, then from 2011 to 2012 as engineering manager at Facebook in the USA .

From 2013 to 2019 he was Managing Director of Amazon's Development Center Germany in Berlin . Since 2020 he has been Senior Vice President Data Science & Machine Learning at Zalando.
