Ralf Jacob (* 1967 in Merseburg ) is a German archivist and historian .

Ralf Jacob studied archival science and history at the Humboldt University in Berlin . He has been working in the Halle (Saale) city ​​archive since 1993 and has been the city archivist since 1994 as Werner Piechocki's successor . Since 2009 he has headed the Halle museums with the Halle city museum . Ralf Jacob presented several publications on the history of the city of Halle. Since 2003 he has been publishing the yearbook for the history of the city ​​of Halle on behalf of the Association for the History of Halle . He was chairman of the Saxony-Anhalt regional association of the Association of German archivists (VdA) and has been its national chairman since April 2016.
