Ralf Nettelstroth (born May 12, 1964 in Bielefeld ) is a German politician ( CDU ) and was a member of the state parliament in North Rhine-Westphalia from May 2012 to May 2017 .

Life

Nettelstroth grew up in Bielefeld. He studied law at Bielefeld University . Since 1997 he has been working as a freelance lawyer in Bielefeld.

He is married and has two daughters.

politics

Nettelstroth was first elected to the Bielefeld City Council in 1994. In 1997 he became deputy chairman of the CDU council group, and since 2011 he has been chairman of the group. His local political focus is environmental and urban development policy.

In the state elections in 2012 , he lost the direct election in the Bielefeld II state constituency , but entered the state parliament via position 40 on the CDU state list. There he was a member of the Committee on Innovation, Science, Research and Technology and the Committee on Local Policy. Since July 2014 Nettelstroth has been the local political spokesman for the CDU parliamentary group in North Rhine-Westphalia.
