Career

Spanier trained together with Nicole Werner the first women's team of the FFC Heike Rheine , which played in the women's Bundesliga until the 2006/07 season . From the 2007/08 season the team played in the 2nd Bundesliga and Ralf Spanier took over from Nicole Werner as head coach.

After his leave of absence from FFC Heike Rheine, Ralf Spanier took over the 1st women's team from Germania Hauenhorst in summer 2008 . In the 2009/10 season he achieved the “triple” with the women of Germania Hauenhorst. In addition to winning the championship in the women's national league and advancing to the Westphalia league, Spanier and his team won the indoor district championship in the Steinfurt district, as well as the district cup against his former club, the regional division FFC Heike Rheine. In the first year of the Westfalenliga in the 2010/11 season, the SV Germania Hauenhorst team reached the runner-up championship. In addition, Ralf Spanier's team won the district cup in the Steinfurt district for the second time in a row.

In the 2011/12 season, Ralf Spanier and his team made it to the Women's Regional League West on the last day of the championship . Furthermore, the team won the district cup in the Steinfurt district for the third time in a row. Ralf Spanier was also successful in the Westphalia Cup. There Germania Hauenhorst reached the Westphalia Cup final, but where the sports fans had to admit defeat from victories. After four years of coaching, with a total of six official titles at SV Germania Hauenhorst, Ralf Spanier took over the coaching position at the women's northern regional division TSG Burg Gretesch from the 2012/13 season.

In his first season at TSG Burg Gretesch , Spanier reached 7th place in the final table with his team in the Regionalliga Nord and thus improved the ranking of the previous season. TSG Burg Gretesch also won the official title of Osnabrück indoor city champion for women. In the Lower Saxony Cup, the team reached the final of the NFV Cup, but had to surrender to the Bundesliga reserve of VFL Wolfsburg in the Barsinghausen sports school . However, TSG Burg Gretesch's participation in the final in the NFV Cup was enough to qualify for the first main round of the women's DFB Cup in the 2013/14 season .

The 2013/14 season was less successful for Ralf Spanier and his team due to many injuries. In the Regionalliga Nord, TSG Burg Gretesch only reached 8th place. In the Lower Saxony Cup, TSG lost 1-0 in the semifinals to league rivals SV Ahlerstedt and there were no notable successes at the indoor championships. Participation in the DFB Cup can be described as an absolute highlight in the 13/14 season. In the 1st round, the Spaniard team won 3-0 at the Berlin representative BSC Marzahn and thus moved into the 2nd main round of the cup. There they were lucky and got the most attractive ticket with VfL Wolfsburg , the reigning Champions League winner, German champion and DFB cup winner. In the home sports park in Osnabrück, Ralf Spanier and his team lost 9-1 to the triple winner from the Autostadt in front of 2,500 spectators, but it was an advertisement for women's football in the region at the highest level. At the end of the season, Spanier did not extend his contract with TSG Burg Gretesch and thus left the club after two years of coaching. From September 2014 Ralf Spanier became involved in the DFB talent promotion program in the coaching team of the girls' U14 / U12 selection teams in the Steinfurt district. In June 2015, both selection teams from the Steinfurt district won the title of Westphalia champion.

At the beginning of the 2015/16 season, Spanier took over the first women's team from Fortuna Gronau in the national league. With Fortuna he played for a long time against relegation from the women's national league. At the end of the season, the team achieved a good midfield position with 9th place. Ralf Spanier was also successful with the team in the cup competition. By reaching the district cup final in the Ahaus / Coesfeld football district, Fortuna Gronau qualified for the first time in the club's history to participate in the FLVW association cup. In the 2016/17 season, in addition to the first women's team, he took on a position in the club's U-15 women's team.

From July 1, 2017, Ralf Spanier took over the first women's team of SV Germania Hauenhorst in the Women's Regionalliga West. At the end of the 2017/18 season, Spanier and his team reached 8th place in the Women's Regionalliga West and thus achieved the best and highest placement of a football team in the history of SV Germania Hauenhorst. In the winter, Ralf Spanier and his team won the title of indoor circuit champion in the Steinfurt district. In the Westphalia Cup, the team reached the final, but had to admit defeat to VFL Billerbeck 2-0. Ralf Spanier will remain coach at the women's regional division SV Germania Hauenhorst in the 2018/19 season.
