Ramón Pichs Madruga

Ramón Pichs Madruga (born December 7, 1962 in Cienfuegos ) is a Cuban climatologist .

He studied from 1980 to 1985 at the Universidad de La Habana , where he received a bachelor's degree in economics , and from 1989 to 1991 at the University of Lund , where he completed a master's degree in social sciences . He then did his doctorate at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México in Mexico City .

The main topic of his research is the topic of sustainable development . He has published several books and over 30 articles on this.

Madruga was appointed to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change even before the Third Assessment Report was prepared . In 2007, as Vice-Chair of Working Group III “Mitigation of Climate Change”, he was again involved in a responsible position in the preparation of the fourth assessment report .
