Ramón Valle
Ramón Valle (born December 29, 1964 in Holguín , Cuba ) is a Cuban jazz pianist .
Valle received piano lessons from the age of seven and later studied until 1984 at the Escuela Nacional de Arte in Havana . He had initial successes with his group Brújula , but also appeared as a soloist. From 1991 to 1993 he was a member of the Diákara group of Irakere founding member Óscar Valdés, which during this period often performed with Silvio Rodríguez . He has lived in the Netherlands since 1998 and heads the Ramón Valle Quintet , as well as his own trio.
Valle plays contemporary and mainstream jazz , in which Cuban rhythms only appear in between, but has also interpreted classical compositions by his countryman Ernesto Lecuona ( Danza Negra , 2002).
