The Ramal de Barão de São José is a historic railway line in the Brazilian state of Rio de Janeiro in southeastern Brazil. It connects the places Martins Lage on Ramal de Campista / Linha do Litoral with Colomins (Barão de São José).

history

The construction of the Ramal de Barão de São José was started in 1895 by the railway company EF Campista and later transferred in 1902 to the Estrada de Ferro Leopoldina , which continued construction to Colomins (Barão de São José). There was passenger traffic on this route until the end of the 1960s. Although this section has been partially deactivated, there has not yet been an official closure.
