Range Officer
As a Range Officer , the competition judges (referees) are called in dynamic shooting disciplines that ensure a safe and regular timely execution of the shooting competition.
Range officers can be found in IPSC shooting , PPC 1500 , the sporty shotgun in the BDMP and western shooting .
education
The training of the range officers is organized by the umbrella organizations and usually takes place in weekend seminars held by experienced trainers.
The training requires competitive experience as a marksman and goes beyond that of a shooting director for static disciplines.
Identification mark
At the IPSC shooting, international range officers wear blue trousers and a uniform gray and white striped polo shirt. National range officers in Germany wear blue trousers and a uniform red polo shirt provided by the Association of German Sport Shooting .
On the PPC 1500, range officers usually wear red vests with the label RO .
When western shooting, the ROs receive a yellow pin with the inscription "RO", which they must attach to or near their western star.
Functions
Trained range officers are deployed in various positions:
- Range Officer (RO): Ensures a safe and regular process directly with the shooters
- Chief Range Officer (CRO): He is responsible for the shooting lane (s) in his jurisdiction, and is the first instance of appeal in disputes about ratings and rule interpretations.
- Range Master (RM): Has responsibility for the entire competition and is the final authority for all questions relating to valuation and rule interpretations.
- Stats Officer (SO): Is responsible for the proper evaluation of the results.
