Raphaël chantry
Raphaël Chanterie (born November 22, 1942 in Oeselgem , today municipality of Dentergem ) is a Belgian politician of the former CVP, today Christen-Democratisch en Vlaams .
Life
For many years Chanterie was chairman of the Belgian trade union for textiles and clothing. He was also a member of the party presidency and board of the CVP as well as the political board of the European People's Party and the Christian Democratic International. From 1981 to 1999 he was a member of the European Parliament and during that time also chaired the Belgian delegation in the EPP Group.
