Raritan and Delaware Canal

The Raritan and Delaware Canal is an approximately 106 km long canal in New Jersey ( USA ) that connects the Raritan River near New Brunswick with the Delaware River near Bordentown .

It was built from 1830 to 1834 and was in operation until 1932; it was additionally fed with water via a side canal near Trenton connected from the north . In 1974, large sections of the canal were declared a state park .
