The Raritan River or unofficial Rariton River or Rareton River is a 112 km long river in New Jersey .
It rises in the Appalachians in northern New Jersey and flows into Raritan Bay, which belongs to the Atlantic , near Perth Amboy . It is connected to the Delaware River by a canal, the Raritan and Delaware Canal . The largest tributary of the Raritan is the Millstone River, which runs along large parts of the channel .
