Rasmus Johan Michael Hansson (born September 4, 1954 in Bærum ) is a Norwegian biologist , environmental activist and politician ( MDG ). From 2013 to 2017 he was a member of the Storting in Oslo , the first of his party. Since 2014 he has also been one of the party's two spokesmen. In the parliamentary elections in Norway in 2017 , he ran as the top candidate in Akershus .

Hansson was an advisor to the CIENS institute at the University of Oslo from 2012–2013 and previously Secretary General of WWF Norway between 2000 and 2012.

From 1982 to 1984 he was an advisor to the Ministry of the Environment, from 1984 to 1997 he was a researcher, consultant and department head at the Norwegian Polar Institute, and from 1997 to 1999 he was a consultant and department head of the NORAD environmental program. As a scientist, he has published a number of popular and specialist articles focusing on the environment.

Hansson studied biology at the University of Oslo and the NTNU (according to other sources at the University of Tromsø ) and wrote his thesis on the polar bear . He also holds a Graduate Diploma in International Relations and a Graduate Certificate in Business Administration from La Trobe University in Melbourne.

He is the son of the actor Knut M. Hansson .
