Rat Island is an uninhabited island in the northern part of the King Sound , an Australian coastal body of water in the Indian Ocean . It belongs to the Kimberley region in the Australian state of Western Australia. It is 34.3 kilometers from mainland Australia.

The island is 600 meters long and 160 meters wide. Other islands nearby are: Tallon Island , Leonie Island and Poolngin Island .
