Rate Furlan
Rate Furlan (born March 9, 1911 in Padua , † November 28, 1989 in Rome ) was an Italian film director and actor .
Life
Furlan graduated in law , then graduated from the music school in the subject pianoforte and attended the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia and the Accademia d'Arte Drammatica . He began his artistic work as an opera director and, increasingly, at the theater. In 1948 he worked for the film for the first time; for Giuicatemi! and La figlia della Madonna , as well as writing the scripts, he also took on the music and editing tasks. After an unpublished film, he made his debut as a director in 1950; in the following year and 1958 two more cinema works followed, but his main field of work remained that of opera direction. He also appeared as a composer and television director. From 1960 he also devoted himself to acting until his death.
