Town Hall (Grossenhain)
The town hall in Großenhain was built from 1873 to 1876 and, along with the Großenhain Marienkirche, is a landmark of the town.
As early as 1492 there was a town hall with a bar cellar, meat and bread banks and salt room on the south side of the large market square in Großenhain. In 1872 this building was destroyed by a city fire and was replaced by a new building by the Dresden architects Bruno Adam and Oswald Haenel with a neo-Renaissance facade made of sandstone. The city's administration is still in the building today.
