Bruno Adam

Bruno Adam (born August 27, 1846 in Eisenberg , later Moritzburg , † June 3, 1918 in Dresden ) was a German architect .

Life

Adam studied at the Dresden Art Academy from 1866 to 1870 . Hermann Nicolai was one of his teachers . He then founded an architecture office together with Oswald Haenel , with which they became the main representatives of the neo-renaissance in Dresden. Her main works include the closed residential development on Sachsenplatz (1879–1881) and the non-preserved hunter barracks on the old town side (1882).

From 1892 to 1893 Adam built the Dreikönigsschule on the site of today's State Ministry for Science and Art on Wasserstraße (today's Wigardstraße) in the Inner New Town . Another work by the architects Adam and Haenel is the town hall in Großenhain , built in 1875 . 1887–1888, the Hermann Thessius Villa in Niederlößnitz was built according to Adam's design . Adam was also in charge of the exhibition Die Alte Stadt in 1896 , for which he created individual buildings; these have not been preserved.

Bruno Adam carried the honorary title of a (royal Saxon) building councilor .
