History and description
Today's town hall of Drosendorf on the main square was acquired by the city in 1542. A redesign took place around 1560. In 1846 the tower with the council bell burned down.
In the passage there is a vault typical of the second half of the 16th century. In a niche are two models of the castles from Frain an der Thaya and Vöttau in the Czech Republic .
Around 1910, the town hall presented itself with a banded lower floor and a smooth upper floor. Above the arched portal, a semicircular bezel showed the polychrome coat of arms of the city of Drosendorf with the Austrian imperial eagle as a relief . In the 1930s, the facade facing the main square was redesigned and received sgraffiti designed by August Hoffmann . Among other things:
- Stefan von Maissau, who defended Drosendorf against Ottokar II Přemysl in 1278 ,
- St. Martin as the patron saint of the town church ,
- Oswald von Eyczing for his participation in the construction of the Martinskirche and
- a plaque of honor for the citizens who served their city unnamed.
