Town hall Werne
The historic town hall on the market is a listed secular building in Werne , a town in the Unna district in North Rhine-Westphalia .
History and architecture
The large two-storey gabled house with an open arched hall on the south side is in an attractive urban location. It was built from 1512 to 1514 using a medieval predecessor building. The lower storey belongs to a stepped gable in the Munster style. The pinnacles are placed across the corner. The triangular gable with a coat of arms is labeled 1561, it was added later. The building is a good example of a small town hall in the Münsterland. After the destruction of all late medieval arch houses in Münster, it is of importance for the history of the Westphalian secular building.
