The Wittenberge town hall was built from May 11, 1912 to June 1914. It is located at August-Bebel-Straße 10. The designs are from City Planning Officer Friede Everhard Bruns. The detailed plans come from the Schwerin architect Heinrich Mußfeldt (1882–1958). The building designed as the town hall of Wittenberge and still in use today was opened on 25/26. Solemnly inaugurated June 1914. The costs were around 600,000  marks , including the design of the environment. The construction of the town hall became necessary because the old town house at Steinstrasse 47 had become too small for the growing administration, which was an up-and-coming industrial city at the time.

The building has an almost square footprint of 44 m by 43 m. The surfaces of the main show sides are faced with tuff stone , the decorative elements are made of sandstone . The other facades are designed with rough plaster . Towers, bay windows and loft extensions were covered with copper, the roof with dark gray Dutch pans . The magistrate's meeting room, the small wedding room and the large meeting room were designed in a particularly elaborate manner with lead glazing and painted windows as well as wall and ceiling paneling . The windows in the stairwell were decorated with 46 city coats of arms.

The town hall tower with a height of 51 m has a viewing platform at a height of 37.5 m .

Others

In the former Ratskeller in the basement of the building there is still a catering facility.
