Raul Arnemann

Raul Arnemann (born January 23, 1953 in Pärnu , Estonian SSR ) is a former Soviet rower of Estonian origin.

Athletic performance

Raul Arnemann began his career as a rower in 1969. From 1971 to 1976 he lived and trained in Moscow . At the World Championships in 1974 and 1975 Arnemann was together with Nikolai Kuznetsov , Posdejew and Anuschawan Gassan-Jalalow second in the four without a helmsman . In 1978 he was vice-world champion in the men's eighth place . In 1974 he took first place in the Soviet championships in double sculls , in 1976 he was second in the four and 1977 third in the four. From 1978 to 1981 he was Estonian champion ten times.

Raul Arnemann won the bronze medal in the rowing competition (four without a helmsman) for the Soviet Union at the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal, together with Nikolai Kuznetsov, Valeri Dolinin and Anuschawan Gasan-Jalov.

In 1982 Arnemann ended his sporting career. He then became a forester in Audru .
