Room divider in a conference room

A room partition system is a system for the temporary separation of rooms. This is about an optical or acoustic separation of rooms in a building. Often the optical and acoustic separation of larger rooms is sought at the same time .

Optical separation

The " Spanish wall " is used exclusively for visual separation and has the advantage of being easy to move. Curtains , folding walls, sliding walls and sliding doors are guided by rails or rollers and offer better privacy, but have the disadvantage of less mobility.

Acoustic separation

Depending on the design, curtains, folding walls , sliding walls and sliding doors can cause a low level of sound insulation . Better results are achieved with specially designed room partition systems. Sliding walls and doors have a good sound-absorbing effect in a multi-layer construction.

There are also transparent sliding walls and doors, mostly made of glass elements, for the temporary spatial separation of areas in banks and shopping arcades.
