Razeq Fani

Razeq Fani (* 1943 in Kabul ; † April 25, 2007 in San Diego ), also Raziq Faani , was an Afghan poet and writer with a Tajik background. He is one of the most important representatives of contemporary Afghan poetry .

Life

After studying political economy in Sofia , Raziq Faani returned to Afghanistan in 1977, where he then devoted himself entirely to poetry. He brought out his first volume of poetry in 1966 under the title Armaghan-e Jawani . Other works followed, including a novel about life in Afghanistan (1983) and a collection of short stories and satires (1987). In 1988 Raziq Faani emigrated with his family to the United States in San Diego , California , where he passed away in April 2007.
