After the death of their parents, Ataru Kashiwagi and his sister Yuri live alone and are poor. Ataru is increasingly taking refuge in the online world and the Real Account network . Unlike in the real world, he can easily make new friends and acquaintances here. But then he and 10,000 others are suddenly trapped in Real Account. They can no longer leave the network and their bodies are unconscious. The network mascot Marble challenges them to play deadly games together, in which their real life is at stake. With every death, all followers will die and the loss of all followers will also cost one participant their life.

The rest of humanity is also witnessing the events and, as followers, can themselves be threatened with death. Many of the participants die in an initial panic because they lose all followers. Ataru is initially only his sister, but he wants to protect and blocks. But he also has another, unknown follower. So he can enter the other games in order to be able to return to the real world one day.
