Reanascreena stone circle

The stone circle of Reanascreena ( Irish Ré na Scríne ) is an Axial Stone Circle (ASC) and is located on a hill southwest of the eponymous village in County Cork in Ireland . Similar to Glantane East , it is surrounded by a low wall with a shallow moat.

The multiple stone circle of the Cork-Kerry series of about nine meters in diameter consists of 12 large stones, which is unusual because the circles in this series usually have odd stone numbers. Two 1.5 m high stones, opposite the 0.5 m high axial or lying stone, form a portal. The axis is not directed towards the solstices, unlike the nearby circles of Bohonagh and Drombeg .
