Rebecca Downes

Rebecca Downes (born in Wolverhampton ) is a British singer-songwriter whose music includes blues , soul , jazz and rock . She is compared to Tina Turner and Janis Joplin .

In April 2017 she founded the music rights company Rebecca Downes Music Limited as well as her own independent label Mad Hat Records, which from now on will publish all of Rebecca Downes' records. In addition, all rights for the Downes albums that have already been released were acquired. The owner of Mad Hat Studios in Wolverhampton-Coven, Mark Viner Stuart, apparently agreed with the appropriate naming.

She usually writes her compositions together with her guitarist and close friend Steve Birkett .

Downes lives and works in Birmingham .
