Rebecca Schäperklaus (born July 2, 1992 in Datteln ) is a German volleyball player .

Career

Schäperklaus began her sporting career with the then second division team SuS Olfen , where her sister already played. In the E-Jugend she went to SC Union 08 Lüdinghausen . In 2006 she moved to USC Münster , where she was trained at the Bundesliga club's sports boarding school. In 2008 and 2009 she was the German youth vice champion. The middle blocker, who is also used in the diagonal position, took part in the 2009 World Cup and the 2009 and 2010 European Championships with the junior national team. In 2011 Schäperklaus was signed by the Bundesliga club Envacom Volleys Sinsheim . After Sinsheim's relegation to the 2nd Bundesliga and filing for bankruptcy, Schäperklaus moved to 1st VC Wiesbaden in 2012 .

On October 31, 2016, Schäperklaus prematurely terminated her contract in Wiesbaden because she missed all of the preparation for the season due to an illness. She also gave personal reasons for leaving. Schäperklaus has been playing for second division Bayer Leverkusen since 2017 .
