The Dülmener Zeitung is the only daily newspaper in Dülmen and the districts of Buldern , Hiddingsel , Hausdülmen , Merfeld and Rorup . It was created under its current name on October 1, 1907 from the Dülmener Anzeiger and the Dülmen-Halterner Volkszeitung . It has joined forces with Westfälische Nachrichten and other publishing partners in the region to form the Münsterland newspaper group. The circulation sold is 7134 copies, a decrease of 28.5 percent since 1998. The Dülmener Zeitung belongs to the J. Horstmann publishing house and is printed in the Aschendorff printing center on the Hansalinie in Münster-Mecklenbeck .

The main focus of the Dülmener Zeitung is on local reporting. Together with the other titles of the Münsterland newspaper group in the Coesfeld district, there is a shared district page that is edited in the press house of the Allgemeine Zeitung Coesfeld . The joint central editorial office of the Westfälische Nachrichten in Münster is responsible for supraregional reporting . In addition to the actual local editorial office in Dülmen, there is also a local sports editorial office dedicated to the sporting events in the city.

Traditionally, the newspaper is closely linked to Dülmen's life. Even their oldest editions are stored in the local city archive. The Münsterland newspaper group tends towards the conservative political spectrum in its basic orientation.
