Mtispiri ( Georgian მთისპირი ) is a village in Georgia , in the Guria region , in the Osurgeti municipality .
It is located on the right bank of the Bachwiszqali River , around 16 kilometers east of Osurgeti as the crow flies . In 2014 Mtispiri had 238 inhabitants.
The surroundings of the village are mountainous. The climate is subtropical , the average temperature in summer is 18 to 25 degrees Celsius.
Mtispiri is one of the oldest villages in Georgia. The area around the hamlet-like settlement was already inhabited in early antiquity. The early medieval fortress Askana and a late medieval church are located near Mtispiri . A cultural center forms the center of the village.
