Rebel Heart

Rebel Heart is a song by Irish band The Corrs from their third album In Blue . It is an instrumental piece with Celtic influences, mainly with violin, bodhrán and tin whistle .

The song was composed primarily by Sharon Corr and was actually a separate commission for the four-part series Rebel Heart by BBC Ireland. The Corrs then decided to include the song in the album. He was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Pop Instrumental Performance in January 2001 . On the official website of the Corrs, Sharon Corr is quoted as saying:

“I wrote it on the piano in Malibu while we were recording Talk on Corners . It was lying around for a long time until the BBC was looking for music for their big fall drama about the Easter Rising in Ireland in 1916. It's got a very Irish melody, we added the tin whistle and other stuff and then it was just right. "
