Sharon Helga Corr (born March 24, 1970 in Dundalk , Ireland ) is an Irish musician.

Career

Sharon Corr became known as a member of the group The Corrs , which also consists of her two younger sisters Caroline and Andrea and her older brother Jim. She plays the violin , piano and guitar . She also sings the backing vocals with the Corrs and has composed the pieces So Young , Radio and Goodbye , among others . In 2005, Sharon Corr and her siblings received an honorary MBE from Elisabeth II .

After the Corrs had released their last studio album for 10 years with Home in 2005 , the group activities ceased. Sharon Corr then devoted herself to her family life and, like her sister Caroline, largely withdrew from the music business. During her second pregnancy, she began composing and preparing for her first solo album again. The recordings took place in 2009. On August 28, 2009, the single It's Not a Dream was released in advance . The album Dream of You followed on September 10, 2010 . In September 2013, Corr's second solo album was released. It is titled The Same Sun . The song Take a Minute was released as a single from it .

In 2012 and 2013, Sharon Corr was a judge on The Voice of Ireland casting show .

Sharon Corr has been married to Gavin Bonnar since 2001. The couple have a son and a daughter.
