Calculation variables of the social insurance

The calculation variables of social insurance in Germany are several values that are set anew every year according to social insurance law, which control contributions and benefits in social insurance .

In detail these are

the average remuneration in the pension insurance (final and provisional),
the reference values in social insurance,
the contribution assessment limits in the pension insurance,
the annual wage limits (including compulsory insurance limits) in health insurance and
the values for converting the contribution assessment bases of the acceding area .

They have an impact on contributions, benefits and their dynamization in the statutory

Definition

The calculation quantities are determined annually by federal law or statutory ordinance . As a rule, the determination is made by means of an annual social security calculation regulation, but in the context of major social reforms , the content has also been determined in the past within the framework of the amending law provided for this purpose.

The calculation parameters under pension law are also permanently documented as time series in annexes to Book Six of the Social Security Code .
