Redcap (chicken)
The Redcap is an English breed of chicken, which is characterized by an exceptionally large rose crest .
Origin and Distribution
The breed originated in England , in the counties of Derbyshire and Yorkshire , presumably from crosses with Old English pheasants and dorkings . Although the breed is recognized in some countries within Europe, it is almost exclusively bred in Great Britain .
features
The only color is spotted gold and black. The rose comb is massive and, according to the English standard, should be at least 7 cm long and set with equally long tips. The legs are yellow. The ear lobes are red and the hens lay white eggs (although red ear lobes are associated with a brown egg color in virtually all other breeds).
