Kurt Redenz (born February 6, 1931 in Stettin ) is a German philatelist and postal historian.

Life

Kurt Redenz studied law at the Humboldt University in Berlin until 1975 . He turned to philately at the end of the 1950s and in 1960 he joined the Kulturbund der DDR , Philatelie section. In 1961 he founded the Philatelie Königs Wusterhausen working group together with the philatelist pharmacist Martin Rehfeld. From 1965 Kurt Redenz was chairman of the Philatelie Kalbe / Milde working group and, after a change of residence, from 1975 to 2003 chairman of the Bestensee stamp association and from 1991 to 2003 at the same time treasurer of the young stamp friends of the Brandenburg state ring. Since 1971 he has gradually qualified as a juror for performance classes III, II and I and has been employed in this function at many stamp exhibitions.

Several exhibits designed by Kurt Redenz qualified for exhibitions and received awards. These include, for example, the exhibits "Moscow Olympics", 1980, "The Great Patriotic War" and "From the history of manned space travel in the USSR". The exhibit “GDR 1949-1952” received a “Big Silver” in Amsterdam in 2002 and a Big Silver medal at NAPOSTA 09 in Essen in 2009. The exhibit “From the history of the city of Szczecin” was awarded a Vermeil medal at NAPOSTA 05 in Hanover and BULGARIA 09 in Sofia.

His post-historical studies summarized Kurt Redenz together in several booklets, which reflect on the respective subjects many philatelic documents from his collection. The brochures “From the Postal History of Salzwedel” and “From the Postal History of Gardelegen” received the silver and bronze ratings at the 2007 national literature exhibition in Leipzig. Today Redenz lives in Falkensee-Finkenkrug .
