The Reformed Church in Madulain in the Upper Engadine is a Protestant - Reformed church under cantonal conservation . It is located in the village center near the exit to the cantonal bypass road.

History and equipment

The small church was built in the pre-Reformation period in 1510 in the late Gothic style, while the tower, modeled on the Baroque and adorned with an onion dome, dates back to 1745. When it was founded, the church was under the patronage of the Apostle Bartholomew .

Church interior

The hall-like interior is held together by two cross vaults . The pulpit and chair of the clergyman come from the time after the Graubünden turmoil . In 1963 Gian Casty created the stained glass Resurrection for the church .

Renovations

The building was last restored in 1993.

Church organization

Madulain is ecclesiastically merged with the larger Zuoz and belongs with it to the Colloquium VII Engiadin'Ota-Bregaglia-Poschiavo-Sursès within the Evangelical Reformed Regional Church of Graubünden , as well as to the regional church association Il Binsaun .
