The Reformed Church Oron-la-Ville ( French Temple d'Oron-la-Ville ) is an oval church in the municipality of Oron VD , Switzerland .

history

The church was built by the Bern master builder Abraham Dünz in 1678 as a transverse church with a polygonal, approximately oval floor plan. In 1816 it was converted into a longitudinal church. The first example of this unusual building scheme was provided by Dünz a few years earlier with the church of Chêne-Pâquier .

The simple church has three portals and a roof turret . The pulpit has been on the east side of the church since 1816 . The opposite side is filled by a gallery .
