The Hájený potok below the first bridge

The Hájený potok (German Hegebach ) is a right tributary of the Smědá ( Wittig ) in the Czech Republic .

course

The Hájený brook springs on the Isergebirgskamm on the south side of the Smrk ( Tafelfichte , 1124 m) above the Iserquelle . Its course initially leads down the Smrk in a southerly direction. In the gap between the Smrk and Klínový vrch ( Käuliger Berg , 971 m), the Hájený potok changes its direction of flow to the west and then takes on a number of nameless little streams from the slope of the Smrk. Between the Paličník (944 m) and the Tišina ( Dreßlerberg , 873 m) the Hájený potok forms a short rocky gorge in which there are several smaller waterfalls up to a height of two meters as well as cataracts, the largest of which is 25 meters high overcomes.

At the Bartlova bouda ( Bartl-Baude ) the brook reaches the village of Bílý Potok , whose houses stretch along the Hájený potok and the Smědá flowing down from the left of the Smědava . Both streams finally join in the Niederdorf of Bílý Potok, where the Hájený potok flows into the Smědá.

A hiking trail leads from Bartlova bouda through the valley of Hájený potok to Paličník, which is used as an ascent to the ridge path between Smrk and Předěl.
